
Fr. Joseph McCaffrey is a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. He has built a life of service marked by leadership, pastoral care, and crisis ministry. Ordained in 1987 after advanced studies at the Pontifical College Josephinum, he has served in many notable roles, often centered on building both physical and spiritual communities. He also serves as longtime chaplain to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, responding to tragedies including United Airlines Flight 93 crash. Named Episcopal Vicar of the North Vicariate by David A. Zubik in 2024, his life long ministry reflects a deep commitment to helping families living with complex challenges grow closer to Christ.
Michelle Wright has worked in the field of Theology & Catechetics for over 20 years. She graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2001 with a BA in Theology and minors in Religious Education & Philosophy. After teaching at the high school level and serving in campus ministry for several years, she completed a Master’s Degree in Education and earned a PA Certificate in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University. Since then, she has taught at the college level, both in person and online. She recently joined the Doctorate in Ministry program at Franciscan University with a focus on creative catechetical formation for individuals with complex challenges. She lives in Cranberry Township, PA, with her husband and teenage son.


Ashley Veres was raised in the Catholic faith within the Diocese of Pittsburgh, which has played a significant role in shaping her values and sense of community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Education, as well as a master’s degree in Early Intervention, reflecting her dedication to supporting the growth and development of young children. She has held various positions volunteering for the church.
Holly Smith is currently serving as the Director of Faith Formation at Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish. She has over 10 years of experience working in parishes within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. She earned a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Education through Duquesne University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Theology through Franciscan University. Holly is passionate about sharing the Gospel and bringing Christ’s compassion and mercy to all ages.


Jason Gawaldo is the Director of Evangelization and Catechetical Ministries at Divine Grace Parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh as well as a Catechetical Consultant. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Classics from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s degree in Theology and Pastoral Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Since 2007, he has worked in a variety of parish ministries ranging from young families and infant Baptism preparation to young adult ministry. His personal and professional mission has been to help people of all ages develop a deeper relationship with Jesus and a meaningful understanding of the faith. Jason and his wife Natalie are blessed with six wonderful children. They enjoy traveling as a family and bringing the faith into their home.
